How to choose the right jeans:

Choosing the right pair of jeans, that will make you look good (as a larger person) , and will fit well is honestly not as hard as you’d think.

Getting a good pair of jeans comes down to 3 things.

The Rise. – the rise on a pair of jeans is simply a measurement from the bottom of the crotch to the top of the waistband. There are different types of rises. For large men you will want low rise jeans. These are the most flattering, because they sit below the stomach. They are also the most comfortable.

The Fit – the fit of a gene measures how tight, or loose the jeans are. Skinny jeans are the tightest. Husky (or loose) is the loosest. For larger people, we want our jeans to be in the middle. Not too tight or too loose. This means you’re either want a relaxed fit, or a straight fit Jean.

Leg opening style – This is how your jeans look at the bottom. There are quite a few different styles out there. Generally you’ll want a straight cut (just a straight all the way down cut) or a boot cut if you have larger ankles like I do. (boot cut is slightly larger at the bottom so it hides more). Other cuts will either hug the ankles to much, or show the ankles like a tapered cut.

Now, you might be thinking……

Seriously? Thats all I need to know?

Aren’t there more options that I should be considering?

And the answer is yes……….to an extent.

The thing is….

Most of the other options are simply personal preference.

Let me give you an example.

I could tell you that blue jeans look better faded. But of course, you might think the opposite.

See what I’m saying? Thats all that their really is to it. Once you’ve git the rise, leg opening style, and the fit right……youve got yourself a great looking pair of jeans you can wear anywhere. From there, you pick the style based on personal preference.

Quick tip: I really do think darker, faded blue jeans do look the best. They’re visually slimming. So, if you really are struggling with choosing……just go with that. This style can go formal or casual. It basically works for any occasion. Not to mention it also matches with a lot of clothes as well.

Where to shop for your jeans

READ THIS FIRST: NOT ALL OF THESE OPTIONS WILL BE RIGHT FOR YOU.

What I mean by this, is that depending on your size………. You may or may not be able to get something for your size. I’ve included places that are good for all larger sizes. But some stores have limited options and only carry some plus size, while others are much more accommodating for larger individuals. I just wanted you to be aware. Its best to call ahead as well because some stores vary as well from location to location.

DXL –

When it comes to jeans, DXL is by far one of the best places to shop at for many reasons. They have a great selection of different jeans to choose from, and since the store is catered towards larger guys its very easy to find something you’ll like here. Pair this with the fact that salesman are very quick to help and it makes this place a no brainer to shop at. The only downside is that the prices can get high. SO SIGN UP FOR THEIR MAILING LIST. (seriously they send out incredible deals often)

Burlington –

This company is underrated in my opinion. They have a great selection of clothing in general that is plus size, but my favorite thing is just how inexpensive they are. You can almost always find an awesome deal if you shop at Burlington. You’ll really never know what you’ll find when you walk in.

Jcpenney –

many people don’t know this, but jcpenney has a surprisingly extensive big and tall section. They have a little bit of almost everything, so you’re very likely to find a good pair of jeans you’ll like there. Also, prices are fairly reasonable.

Levis –

You’d be surprised at what levis has to offer when it comes to jeans for larger guys. If you haven’t heard of them, the !!!!!! Is the GOAT of all jeans for bigger guys. Countless larger guys find these to be the absolute best Jean out there. It has everything from comfort, looks, and price. Its actually the number one Jean I recommend in this article.

King Size Direct –

If you’re larger I’m sure you’ve heard of these guys. I’ve personally enjoyed everything about them. They’re priced slightly high though. The big downside is you can’t actually go in their stores and try the stuff on to get a feel for how you’d like them.

Jeans that’ll make you look GOOD

#1 – LEVIS –

levis are the best jeans for larger men by far. They are well known in male fashion groups, especially those by larger males to make some of the best, and most importantly flattering jeans for larger guys. Many of their pairs of jeans are roomy on the top half, and stretchy as well. Making them fit ridiculously nice.

#2 Duluth –

While this brand isn’t necessarily known for their jeans, Duluth makes some of the best looking jeans I’ve ever seen. They’re also very high quality and durable compared to other jeans. So when you buy these you’re much more likely to have them for quite some time. Duluth can be more pricey as well, so if you hold out for a sale however you’ll be golden. Only downside to these jeans is that they don’t feel as comfy as others.

#3 LL Bean –

Some of the absolute best looking jeans out there for larger Men come from this brand. They make good jeans for every occasion, but they definitely lean more toward the dressier style of Jean…….while still staying casual.

#4 7 For All Mankind –

Many people SWEAR by this brand, and taking one look at any of their jeans you can clearly see why. I’ve never been able to try one of these yet for myself, but hopefully ill be able to try a pair on for myself in the future. There is a LOT of hype for these. Definitely worth checking out.

#5 LEE Jeans –

I’ve never really liked the style of Lee jeans, but I do have a pair and every once in awhile ill wear them because they are MAJORLY COMFORTABLE. If you need a pair you can do a lot of work in, these are the ones to get. I decided to include these in this section because a lot of people really feel like the style of these jeans are flattering in the right places. Everyone has their own preference.
