How to Stop Fat Smell – (My Simple Solution)

If you’re like me, one of the worst parts about being larger can be the smell that comes from under belly fat….figuring out how to stop it can be a pain, so hopefully what’s worked for me will work for you as well.

Thankfully – Belly fat odor is one of those things that can EASILY be prevented (Key word is prevented here)

In this article, we’ll go over the simple solution I have to stop this smell…….the causes of the smell, and other alternative solutions as well.

Let’s get started.

Important! – You need to know what causes the smell.

So, why does it smell between fat rolls?

The simple answer, is that bacteria consistently builds up in the fat rolls because of sweat buildup. It’s the bacteria that causes the smell, not the sweat BUT if you can get rid of the sweat quickly……..then there won’t be any issues with bacteria buildup, and you won’t have the smell.

The Simple Solution

Simply put, the solution is two parts.

#1 You need a wipe to wipe away the sweat And bacteria when it starts.

#2 but MORE IMPORTANTLY you also need a paper towel to wipe away the wetness that’s left over from the wipe as well.

The second step is MAJORLY important. You need to wipe away the wetness from the first wipe otherwise the bacteria WILL COME BACK. I used to actually just do the second step only…….it takes away MOST of the smell just by itself, the problem is that it doesn’t get all of it. I’ve found out the reason for this is that some wipes KILL bacteria. So you really need both steps.

Choose the right wipe – You need one that kills bacteria (where the smell comes from)

Like we discussed earlier, the smell comes from bacteria……so you do need certain types of wipes in order to kill the smell. Kill the bacteria, kill the smell. Super simple. You can get most of the bacteria by simply wiping with a paper towel…..but you don’t get all of it.

The absolute best wipe will have three main components (Pay attention! This is important!)

Number One – It absolutely HAS to kill bacteria. Other wipes do NOT and they simply BARELY make a difference. This is probably the most common mistake I see people making online. The bacteria is where the smell comes from.

Number Two – It can’t smell bad and like bleach or any cleaning product. It totally takes away from the entire purpose of this…….to get rid of the smell. The smell is the absolute big issue we’re going after here!

Number Three – This kind of has to do with number two, but you want your wipe to smell good, so the smell associated with it makes people think maybe you’re just using a certain type of cologne. That’s what we’re going for here.

Note: Wipes will always have a very small amount of chemical smell. Some just have less than others.

Here are three wipes I’ve used that smell absolutely AMAZING and really get the job done for me personally. I LOVE these, and have had no issues with any of them. They all smell great, and get rid of the smell.

Update: I only use these now.

They’re great, and smell extremely fresh. Other ones I tried stopped working. So these are my favorite! Will update if I try more.

Other ways to get rid of the smell –

I’ve tried absolutely every way out there to get rid of this smell, and while the method I talked about earlier does work……it is definitely not the only solution. The smell got EXTREMELY bad at one point, and seriously to the point where everyone around me consistenly talked about it to each other and I simply did not know what to do. It was incredibly embarrassing and I literally tried every single method humanly possible just to make the smell go away.

What I found, was that some methods that worked well for others did not work for me. And other methods, would work for a short while, but eventually like everything else……..would just stop working, or only work half the day.

A great example of this – cocoa butter. I had a friend who used it and it worked like a CHARM. He always smelled great throughout the day (cocoa butter just smells great in general) and he rarely had any issues. (sometimes he did end up with rash he said however. Even after he lost the weight he still relied heavily on this product. For me, this didn’t work at all! I didn’t understand why I had to be doomed to the smell but he didn’t have to. It felt ridiculous, and honestly unfair.

Eventually I started trying some seriously weird stuff. Some of the weird stuff I tried……actually worked.

Number one weird thing I tried, and I HIGHLY recommend to anyone that is larger, is to START DRINKING TONS OF WATER. Like absolutely crazy amounts of water.

Drinking tons of water has made my energy EXPLODE honestly. Each day I drink at least a gallon, and for SOME reason I don’t smell as bad either. I can’t explain it, I really don’t know why this happens……..but it’s worked for me. Even if you don’t want to drink a lot of water, or don’t think this will help you….you should seriously try it. It even improves headaches, and that weird unconcentrated/head fog I used to get in the middle of the day. People that are larger need LOTS more water anyways. Try it! You have nothing to lose.

Vitamin C – I still don’t know why, but ever since I started taking this and more vitamins in general I noticed my smell started to improve. Energy levels and even my mood improved as well. It’s crazy how great you can feel once you start taking care of your body better. (I know, this should be common sense……but I just didn’t think the changes in how I felt would be so drastic!)

Taking my meds – When I got diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, and started taking medications for it……………..I stopped sweating……a LOT. Taking meds for this condition is probably the best decision I have ever made for myself in my life to be honest.

For some reason, when I started getting my hypo in check the smell SERIOUSLY DECREASED. I mean DRASTICALLY. This was very weird to me considering that the smell is supposed to be caused by bacteria…….but I guess there are other causes as well.

What to Avoid:

So, I used to get cheap baby wipes. Like the dollar package ones. I don’t know why but they caused a rash for me personally. I would say try those if you want to……..I’m sure that for most people they won’t cause that…..but just be aware.

Also don’t just wipe the sweat away without a wipe. It made the problem worse in a lot of ways that would take awhile to get into, so just trust me it was not fun.
