Are you to fat to skateboard? No way. Watch these obese skaters land HUGE gaps

Hey! I’m Cameron and welcome to my blog. If you WANT to skateboard and think you can’t because you’re to fat…….think again.

In this article you’ll find videos of skaters landing HUGE gaps, sticking tres, getting air out of banks and ramps…….doing everything thinner skaters do.

And if you’re feeling like you might just be to big?

Just watch this guy. 330 pounds and he’s sticking tres with EASE. I’m almost 400 currently, but even when I was over 400 I could still kickflip, 180, etc.

In this next one, the dude does just about everything. Fat gaps, gaps going uphill and downhill, big spins, really just about any flip trick you can think of.

It’s honestly stupid impressive. Especially how smooth he rides when landing stuff. As a bigger guy myself I know it can be really hard to not jolt when landing (kind of hard to explain, hope I’m wording that right) and he has absolutely no problems with landing and rolling away smooth (it appears)

Also, this dude is crazy flexible to. I never thought I’d see a big guy like this nail a boneless……but he does them flawlessly. At one point he even goes up on the bank and does a boneless 360. Mad respect.

Only thing I got to say. I say this with no hate only respect, I don’t do boardslides at my weight lol, so I’m impressed he’s got the spirit to do that.

Here’s another video with a bigger guy in it, not the big as the other guys…….but still pretty big at 250.

I really like the idea behind the video, big guy versus smaller guy……and the big guy holds his own. Even with ridiculously technical tricks all over this little montage. Both guys rip pretty hard in the video.

I mean honestly mad respect at both these guys, not just for technicality…..but for making this video to. Really shows how good you can be even if you have extra weight on you.

If you are worried at all about not being able to skate because of your weight, you can always lose weight as you go along as well.

That’s what the guy in this video did, I was honestly surprised how fast he did it. I’ve been following him practically since the beginning. Pretty cool.

Honestly skateboarding is HUGE calorie burner….so if that’s your plan then you’ve got a fair shot.

He’s not the best skater when it comes to tricks however, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

This one hurts to watch. I still can’t believe this guy even tried this. To be honest, you’ve probably seen this video if you’ve been around awhile in the skateboarding world. It went viral quite a few times. (Crazy how it can do that without social media)

But yeah, if you notice…….he doesn’t even try hard. He basically bails before even beginning. Barely a pop, and he’s out. Dudes got spirit, but I wish he didn’t because he seriously could’ve died on this one. HUGE GAP.

I’ll say this though, I did laugh when he was on the ground and said “that was awesome” like……if you think so I guess.

Hopefully the guys not trying anything else like this anytime soon. If he gets better though and can land stuff like this, he could give Jaws a run for his money.

WARNING: Some pretty hard falls and a broken ankle in this next one.

The next vid is just a huge montage of tons of different larger skaters doing everything from average to some absolutely insane stuff. The beginning of the video is basically taken directly from the first video in this article FYI, so you can just skip over the beginning of this vid entirely if you want to.

There’s some really really good tricks thrown in here, not insanely hard stuff…..but really hard for a larger guy. There’s a large guy about half way through the video that does an insane amount of super technical tricks on a small vert ramp so that was inspiring and cool to watch as well.

Pretty cool montage, pretty long. Some of the clips I could’ve done without personally. Some were kinda pointless and irrelevant for what the video is supposed to be about.

Conclusion:

Honestly, I really hope this inspired you in some way!!! Skateboarding has always been a huge passion/hobby of mine ever since I was young…..when I started gaining a lot of weight it became disappointing how skateboarding seemed ten times harder now…..so Everytime I would start to, I would quit.

Seeing people that were larger skateboard got me back into it. I’m nowhere as good as I was, but I can still kickflip, 180, shove it…..all the basics pretty much. Not WELL, but maybe one day I’ll be able to flip a tre again. Would be pretty cool.

If you’re larger and think you can’t do it, trust me you can. Being larger does make it harder….I completely understand that. It really does, but that doesn’t make it impossible.

If youre worried about if the skateboard can hold you up, they definitely can….but if you’re really really worried you can try a metal deck or some seriously heavy duty trucks like independents. The wheels and bearings will be fine. If you do pop a bearing now and then you can get them replaced pretty cheap.

With skateboarding just like everything else, you’ve got to start small. So don’t beat yourself up if you feel like you aren’t going anywhere very fast with it. Just keep at it and eventually tricks will come to you. I definitely suggest to watching some tutorials as well if this is your first time. They’re honestly surprisingly helpful. For instance, I remember the first time I ever watched a trick tip on ollies……after Olleing for years, I didn’t think there was anything I needed to know. Turns out it’s way easier to pop high ollies if you put your toes on the tail on the edge rather than across the whole board.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this article!!! It was fun for me writing it and watching the videos. Thanks again for reading!!
