Taxi/Uber
This is an absolutely fantastic way for larger people to make some money. In fact, you can start very quickly and taxi/Uber drivers can make money the same day. Many taxi drivers only have to pay a certain amount of money out of the profits and keep the rest. You can also make your own schedule.
Most Importantly…..
You don’t have to be very physically fit in order to pick up passengers and drive them around. It’s relatively an easy job physically.
There are downsides to this job however.
The main one being the customers. There are TONS of rude customers in this business. People really aren’t the nicest in general, but the night time riff raff is really really awful.
If you’re interested in getting a job as a taxi driver, definitely look into it. It can be a great job for anyone, even if you’re not larger.
Truck Driver
Truck drivers can make some absolutely CRAZY money nowadays. Even just starting out, truck drivers are making great livings.
Yes, you do have to spend a LOT of time on the road. And there are a lot of other problems as well…….but truck driving is a great option for larger people.
Again, like before…….
The best reason this is good for large people is because it generally doesn’t have very much labor involved at all. So just about any larger person can do it. You will have to take special driving classes however in order to be a truck driver however. It does take a few months.
Know this…….
If this is a career path you’re considering, know that some truck driving jobs do require you to lose the truck at destinations. Make sure when you apply, you’re able to physically handle this type of work. Ask specific questions about what you’ll be unloading and loading. And who takes care of it.
Call Center
I’ve worked in a few call centers, and while generally they aren’t the highest paying jobs………they’re still a good option for larger people. Since you don’t have to move around much. (Usually, I’ve had call center jobs that randomly asked me to help move stuff around)
The best thing about call centers?
The work is very easy. You simply follow a script, and go from there. Very few call centers will want you to veer off from what you’re supposed to say. Everything is very if x then y. Not hard at all.
You should know…..
This is another job that can be very frustrating sometimes. People can be at their wits end when they call you, and sometimes you really can’t help them. When this happens people sometimes do get irate and it can be hard to handle.
If you’re interested in this job, definitely worth checking out local jobs postings. The people that run these centers can be very desperate for workers.
Sales/Telemarketing
This is an AWESOME career choice for the right person. A lot of people see sales as bad, but it can be a lot of fun. Plus if you’re good, it can pay a LOT and I mean a LOT. There are people making multiple six figures in sales.
The learning curve can be tough, but it’s definitely worth it and it’s very rewarding.
I’ve always seen sales as helping people who need it. Many times in sales, you’ll feel more like an advisor than anything else.
You should consider this……
Sales jobs are ALWAYS hiring. So if you can’t find anywhere else, it’s almost impossible to not be able to find a job in sales.
Also you should know……
Most sales jobs don’t have much physical activity, but some do. Some will have events where you will have to walk around for hours on end asking different vendors sales questions or whatever else. Just be aware, and completely read the job description for what you’re looking into.
Plus Size Model
There are WAY more companies than you’d expect hiring plus size models nowadays. Even companies like target, and Walmart hire plus size models.
You’d be surprised…..
There are job listings all the time for plus size models. Of course these are part time jobs, so you won’t be able to have a full time career out of it…..but it’s still something super cool you can do. And you can tell everyone about it forever!

Consulting/Teaching
Consulting or teaching is one of the BEST jobs for larger people. It mostly doesn’t have a lot of physical movement, and you can really make a difference in people’s lives if you do a good job.
Don’t think you have anything to teach?
Chances are you’re wrong. Most everyone has at least SOMETHING to teach. Even if that something is small. Just think, what could you teach a beginner? What do you know?
Most people don’t realize it, but they do have something to teach others. If you’ve been on the planet for more than a decade, it’s almost impossible for you to not have something to teach.
You should know this:
Not all teaching jobs are going to require a degree or even formal education of any kind.
Data Entry/Accounting
Surprisingly, you can actually get these jobs with only a small amount of education. You’re not going to need four years of school to do data entry, and it does pay well.
This is of course, only a good type of job for those who really like numbers……and being very very precise. It’s absolutely crucial you can make sure all the numbers are dialed in.
This job field actually has a lot of other plus’s as well. Accountants can do more than just accounting. Definitely look into this if you’re interested.
Like all the others…….
This also is a job that requires absolutely minimal physical effort.
Tech/Coding
This is an absolutely incredibly fun skill to learn and use. Like the others, this requires little to no physical exertion.
Gyms
Surprisingly, many gyms are eager to hire larger people. They want people in their gyms who are working on themselves! (Not all gyms)
This is also awesome, because then you can get a gym membership as well!
Of course……
If you’re not interested in doing physical activity at your job, or your weight prevents it……it’s totally understandable to not go for this job. It will definitely be physical.
